McNamara’s Pub & Restaurant
Every neighborhood has a place people rely on. Not just for drinks — but for good food, familiar faces, and a room that feels easy the minute you walk in. In Crystal City, that place is McNamara’s Pub & Restaurant.
We’re an Irish pub and restaurant built for good conversation, quality pours, and food that goes beyond “bar food.” Whether you’re meeting coworkers after work, hosting friends in town, or settling in for a relaxed dinner, you’ll find a seat waiting.
A Neighborhood Pub — Done Right
An Irish pub isn’t just about Guinness on tap. It’s about how you’re greeted. How the room feels. And how long you end up staying.
Since opening in November 2019, McNamara’s has become a go-to spot for Arlington locals, hotel guests, and professionals who want a reliable place to unwind. We’re warm without being loud. Lively without being chaotic. Welcoming without trying too hard.
When you walk in, you’re greeted, seated, and served with something you’ll actually enjoy. Even better, you leave full and in a better mood than when you arrived. That’s the standard.
Food That Stands on Its Own
Our kitchen is at the heart of what we do. While not every pub makes food a priority, we certainly do. Our menu blends traditional Irish classics and American favorites, thoughtfully prepared and served in satisfying portions. You’ll find:
- Hearty classics like beef & Guinness stew and Shepherd’s pie — rich, comforting, and made the way they should be.
- Proper fish & chips with crisp batter and flaky interior.
- Wings and burgers that hold their own against any sports bar in Arlington.
- Weekend brunch dishes that make Saturday and Sunday mornings worth getting up for.
We’re proud of the bar. But we’re just as proud of the kitchen. If you’re comparing pubs in Crystal City, this is where we separate ourselves.
Happy Hour That Actually Feels Like a Deal
Every day from 3 PM to 7 PM, McNamara’s turns into one of the best-value stops in the area.
You get:
- $2 off drinks
- $2 off regular-menu appetizers
- Cocktails, beer, wine — and yes, even high-end pours
It’s simple. It’s consistent. And it’s the reason many of our regulars “wrap up early” during the week.
If you work nearby, you already know how rare it is to find a happy hour that doesn’t feel watered down. Ours doesn’t cut corners.
There’s Always Something Happening
A good pub gives you a reason to come back. At McNamara’s, the week doesn’t just drift by — it has rhythm.
And select nights feature music that keeps the energy up without overpowering the room. You don’t need a special occasion to come in. But if you have one, we’re ready for that too.

My brother and I shared the chicken Caesar wrap that definitely hit the spot. It was fresh and the chicken was tasty! My mom got her fish and chips, along with us sharing the chicken nachos. The nachos were delicious as well!
Our service was pretty top notch too. I don't think it hurt that we were the first ones there since it was a very cold day out! College football was on too which was a plus!
Definitely recommend McNamara's pub. Football season is about to start so find your way down to the pub to watch some games.
The only complaint is the ketchup. Especially if you're a Steelers bar, you definitely should have Heinz
The server told us to sit where we wanted. There was a table by the window and we sat down. The four of us were in town visiting so we all tried something different.
We ordered the calamari, tuna melt with seasonal veggies, a shepherds pie, bangers and mash, and the corned beef and cabbage.
Well, started out great with the calamari and the McNamara's Lager was delicious. It only got better. The Tuna Melt was the best I ever had. Not mayonnaise and runny, absolutely delicious with the jalapeños. The seasonal veggies were cooked perfectly al dente and buttered to perfection. No salt and pepper needed. The Bangers and Mash were incredible and filling.
The plates were cleared for both the shepherds pie and corned beer and cabbage.
If you live in or around town you are lucky to have to have a GREAT Irish Pub.
If you are visiting like we were you should stop by and try.
The server Johnny was extremely friendly, introducing himself and welcoming me in. I only had a couple Guinness to celebrate but it was very nice to be able to relax and take in the atmosphere. Highly recommended if you're in the area!
